The Story So Far
Twenty years, one city. The same job the whole time: make insurance make sense.
I'm from here, and I mean that in every way it can be meant. Pueblo High School, then a Bachelor's in Theology in 2000. I got married in Arizona. All three of my kids were born and raised here — Arizona schools, Arizona friends, Arizona summers. I've been serving this area since 2004 and appointed with Farmers® for over 17 years, out of the office on S Dodge Blvd, south of downtown.
That matters more than it sounds. I'm not insuring a market I researched. I'm insuring the streets my children grew up on, the schools they went to, and the neighbours who watched them grow up. When a monsoon takes a roof off on this side of town, I know the street.
The job hasn't really changed in two decades. People get handed a policy and no explanation. They find out what it actually covers at the worst possible moment, usually standing in water or on a shoulder of I-10. My whole approach is to do that part first, in plain language, before you ever need to file anything.
We do that in English and Spanish. Hablamos Español. Insurance is confusing enough in your first language, and nobody should have to bring their kid along to translate a declarations page.
Most of my clients are in Tucson, Green Valley and Sahuarita. Some have been with me long enough that I now insure the cars of people who were children when we met — the same way my own kids grew up here. That's the part I'd put on the wall, if I put anything on the wall.
